Patrick Junker (1991) is a freelance photographer based in Berlin, Germany. He works for The New York Times, STERN, CNN International, DER SPIEGEL, DIE ZEIT, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and GEO Wissen. His work was published in The Guardian, Society Magazine, A-magasinet, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and DUMMY.

In 2020 he graduated with his BA in photojournalism and documentary photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover, Germany.

He wants to move people with his long-term projects and create more understanding of sensitive topics through photography. His project, »There is glory in prevention« is founded by the Ministry for Science, Research, and Arts of Baden-Württemberg. His online and print reportage on organ donation has been exhibited at international festivals and has won, among others, the Grimme Online Award, the Hansel-Mieth Prize, and the Prize for Science Photography of the German Photographic Society. He participated in the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop in New York in 2019 and was a finalist for the 2020 BFF Sponsorship Award.

Patrick Junker (1991) ist freier Fotojournalist in Berlin. Er hat im August 2020 seinen Bachelor in Fotojournalismus und Dokumentarfotografie an der Hochschule Hannover abgeschlossen. Patrick Junker arbeitet für Redaktionen wie The New York Times, Brand Eins, Capital, CNN International, DER SPIEGEL, DIE ZEIT, fluter online, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, GEO Wissen, Handelsblatt und STERN.

Seine Arbeit »There is glory in prevention« wird vom Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg gefördert. Seine Online- und Print Reportage zum Thema Organspende wurde auf internationalen Festivals ausgestellt und unter anderem mit dem Grimme Online Award, dem Hansel-Mieth Preis und dem Preis für Wissenschaftsfotografie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie ausgezeichnet. Er nahm 2019 an dem renommierten Eddie Adams Workshop in New York teil und war Finalist des BFF-Förderpreis 2020. Mit seinen Langzeitreportagen möchte er Verständnis für sensible Themen schaffen.
